Why this book?
It's More Than a Book!
Throughout my career, one phrase has been my mantra: Why not me? These three words became a declaration of self-belief—pushing me to break barriers, seize opportunities, and step boldly into the unknown.
But after selling my company in 2020 and stepping away from a 46-year executive career, a new question emerged: Why not us?
Women have shattered glass ceilings, taken seats in boardrooms, and risen to senior leadership roles—yet the path remains significantly harder for us.
Why?
The obstacles persist: societal norms, gender bias, systemic barriers, and the relentless noise of self-doubt, both around us and within us.
Experiencing these barriers firsthand—and learning how to overcome them—is what led me to shift from "Why not me?" to "Why not us?" This book is the natural evolution of my life's work: to help other women rise.
Becoming An Author
After years of climbing corporate ladders—leveraging my drive, skills, and expertise to help leaders and organizations navigate challenges, seize opportunities, and drive transformational change—I began to ask myself: How can I use my experience to empower other women in the business world?
I realized that
the transformative power of my own journey, combined with extensive research with women leaders’ personal and professional stories, could create something truly impactful. By sharing winning strategies, real-life experiences, and proven best practices, I could help women rise together and become SelfPowered.
The path became clear: The Movement of SelfPowerment—through the power of a book.
